1. Before Your Trip
Arrival Time
Our meet and greet volunteer will meet you 15 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time. Please make sure to arrive prepared so we can ensure your trip departs on time.
What to wear
  • Even on our nicest days it is colder on water than on land. We advise you to wear warmer clothes and take additional layers and blankets for wheelchair users. If rain is expected, waterproofs are advisable.
  • In warm weather, have sunscreen, hats, and water available.
  • Footwear, please ensure you are wearing non-slip shoes.
Dogs
Assistant and well-behaved dogs are allowed on board, but owners must take full responsibility for them. We do not provide lifejackets for dogs. If your dog requires one, please ensure you bring it with you.
Toilets
We kindly suggest using local facilities before boarding Poppy, as there is no toilet available on board.
2. Trip Details
How long will my trip last
Trips typically last 1 hour and 20 minutes but may be longer during high tides. These longer trips will be noted on the online schedule and communicated during booking.
Who else will be on the trip
Trips are exclusively for you and your family, friends or carers. Onboard will be a trained Skipper and a crew member who will tailor the trip to your needs. Your meet and greet may also join you.
For trips where there are just two passenger we will ask if you are happy to share your trip, we will always gain your approval before booking others to join you.
Total Passenger weight
To ensure safe operation of Poppy, we can accommodate up to five individuals with a total weight limit of 325 kg (including wheelchairs). Please provide accurate and current information for your safety.
 
3. Accessibility & Support
Medical & Support Needs
Our volunteers are happy to offer general assistance when boarding and during the trip; they are not trained to provide personal or medical care.
Passengers must ensure that any personal care or support needs can be provided by their accompanying carer during the trip.
To help us support you and your carer safely, any relevant medical information must be shared with us at the time of booking. This information allows our team to be aware of any important needs while you are on board.
Passengers are responsible for bringing all medications they may require during the trip, including items such as inhalers, EpiPens, or other essential medication.
If you are unsure whether we can accommodate a specific need, please contact us before your trip and we will always do our best to help.
Oxygen Cylinder/s are permitted aboard. Please let us know in advance.
Getting aboard
Poppy’s unique design provides, a lowering bow door for step-free roll-on, roll-off access to board.
Rollable Ramp
We also have an additional ramp which may be used to get you aboard, ensuring we can get you on and off the boat without you or your wheelchair getting wet.
Safety on Board
Important Safety Information for Passengers:
  • The skipper is in charge of the boat at all times
  • All passengers will receive lifejackets, which must be worn at all times during the trip, including the crotch strap.
  • A safety briefing will be conducted prior to departure.
  • Wheelchairs will be secured and strapped down.
  • If a wheelchair user requires a seatbelt while onboard, additional safety information will be provided.
  • Bench seating is available for all passengers, we ask that you remain seated throughout the trip.
No smoking or vaping: To ensure the safety and comfort of everyone on board, smoking and vaping are strictly prohibited on Poppy.
 
5. Wildlife & The Experience
Seals and other wildlife
Blakeney Harbour hosts one of the UK's largest grey seal populations. While we aim to provide a memorable experience, sightings cannot be guaranteed due to seasonal habitat changes and tidal or weather conditions affecting access.
Photo Permissions
We kindly seek your permission for photos on our booking form.
Photos or videos captured during your trip may be shared with you and used to highlight our activities to others. These images may also appear in our marketing materials, including social media and websites, and be shared with our grant funders and donors.
Rest assured, images will not be disclosed to any third parties without your prior consent.
6. Bookings & Cancellations
Cancellations by you
We would appreciate early notice if you were unable to attend.
If you feel unwell, are unable to travel, or circumstances change, please do not worry, simply let us know and we will do our best to rearrange your trip for another suitable date.
No show prevents other people from enjoying the opportunity to go out on the water.
Cancellations by us
We maintain the right to cancel trips due to unfavourable weather conditions; we will always try and give you as much notice as possible but occasionally this may be last minute.
The safety of our passengers is our utmost priority. In unforeseen circumstances that may affect safety, we reserve the right to shorten the trip and return early.

Trips depart from either Blakeney Quay or Morston. Please check your confirmation email for this detail.
